Peartree Pre-School is Located in West Harlem, this newly rehabilitated 6000 S.F. preschool consists of classrooms and support spaces accommodating up to 74 children and a large play area in the rear yard. Challenged with the confinements of an existing multi-room office space the firm was charged to embrace an Ecologically friendly design concept by salvaging as much of the existing layout/partitions, ceiling grid, mechanical systems, and other finish materials while converting the space into 5 large classrooms meeting the New York City Department of Health requirements; a large multi-purpose room and administrative offices. The preschool opened in early 2013 and has achieved its original design concept as it has been noted as one of the more eco-friendly environments in the community.
