Columbia University lounges

While Co-Partners with Aarris Architects, Atepa East contributed to the design of these projects: Ruggles Lounge Consisted of renovating unused basement space at Columbia University’s Ruggles Residential Hall. The basement previously had limited use by students, due to its lack of a common area, unpleasant interior appearance and less than ideal study space. Our approach was to bring life into the space, by opening up the layout, creating comfortable study space, incorporating easy to clean floors. Harlem Townhouse – 306 W 115

Atepa worked in conjunction with Praxis Architects P.C. on this townhouse located in West Harlem. This 5-story new construction townhouse was designed to fit as infill housing in an extremely narrow 16 foot wide lot which is about 2 foot narrower than what is considered a narrow lot (18” wide) per the NYC zoning resolution. However, through creative design we were able to meet the stringent NYC code requirement and ADA requirements. Richard Wright Housing Rehabilitation

This Project consisted of the Gut Rehabilitation and exterior façade refurbishment of two old-law tenement houses in Harlem, New York. A total of 30 Apartment units were bought up to current code, including the 5% of the units were converted to ADA adaptable units per local law 58. Project design also had to incorporate a desired construction phasing plan so temporary and safe living conditions and circulation systems were to be maintained as to not totally inconvenience all the tenants of the two...

Paradise Express Ferry Terminal

Atepa East Architect, LLC. is currently working with Paradise Express Ferry, LLC., the developers on a project to bring the first ferry service to the island of Jamaica. The project includes a proposal for a 30,000 Sq. Ft. Ferry Terminal located in Montego Bay. The current conceptual drawings indicate a 2-level, 15,000 Sq. Ft. structure with an observation deck, which is currently being re-designed to accommodate an additional 15,000 Sq. Ft. of high-end retail space.
